Term 2 Work

Cross Country

This term we competed in our Junior Cross Country. We spent weeks practising our running and then on the 5th of June we went to Argyle Park and ran around the field once. Our Mums and Dads and other family members came and watched us. We did really well because we all finished the race.

Antarctic Centre and Museum Visit

On the 10th of June we went for a visit to the Antarctic Centre and the Canterbury Museum. The reason we went there was because we are going to be learning about Antarctica. We are going to be learning about the environment and the animals that we would encounter down in Antarctica. We are also going to be looking at how Sir Edmund Hillary went to Antarctica. In term 3 we will look at how to survive down there; what kind of clothes we would need, what kind of shelter would withstand the conditions down there. We are very excited about what we are going to learn.
